1. I will never give any personal information such as my real name, address, age,
phone number, school, passwords, or appearance to anyone online or fill in online
forms about myself or my family without my parents’ or guardians’ permission.
2. I will not keep online secrets from my parents. I will tell my parents right
away if someone asks me to keep something secret from my parents. I'll tell
my parents if I come across any information that makes me
feel uncomfortable.
3. I will not look at, download, or copy inappropriate or questionable material.
I understand that installing some software can hurt our computer or jeopardize my family's privacy; I will always ask my parents if I want to download or install anything.
4. I will not arrange to get together with anyone in person that I met online without
getting my parents’ permission. If my parents agree to the meeting, I will be sure that it is in
a public place and bring my mother or father with me.
5. I will not arrange to have a phone conversation with someone I meet online without
my parents’ permission. I understand that people may not be who they say they are
online.
6. I will never send out my or my family members' pictures or anything else without first checking with
my parents.
7. I will not respond to any messages that are mean or in any way make me feel uncomfortable.
It is not my fault if I get a message like that. If I do I will tell my parents
right away so that they can contact the service provider.
8. I will always be courteous in how I communicate to others; I will not use bad
language, insult people, or be rude. I will respect the privacy of my friends and
family.
9. I will follow my parents’ guidelines for when I can use the computer, for how
long and what programs and games I may or may not use.
10. I will never try to break or uninstall any Parental Control Software my parents
use in order to help me to control my Internet or Computer time or to filter out
inappropriate content websites. If I see that one of the Parenting Programs failed
to run or doesn't work, I will tell my parents about it immediately.
11. My Internet passwords are my secret. Nobody (even my best friends) other then
my parents should know it.
12. I will not use the computer to do anything illegal including
illegal downloading of software, music or movies that hurts other people or is
against the law.
13. I will obey this On-line Safety Rules at home, at a friend’s house, school,
library or any other place where I use a computer. |
